Fitness For Duty Evaluations

Independent Medical  Evaluations

Court-Ordered Psychological and Neuropsychological Evaluations

Fitness For Duty Evaluations (FFDEs) are conducted at the request of employers when there is a reasonable belief that an employee may have a psychiatric, cognitive, or substance use problems that may be preventing them from performing their job duties safely and effectively. If the evaluation indicates that the employee is not fit for duty, recommendations may be provided to help them return to work.

Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs) are often used in personal injury, disability, or worker's compensation claims. They can help determine the presence of neurological or psychiatric disorders, the cause of an injury or event, the prognosis for recovery, the medical necessity of treatment, and disability status.

Attorneys or judges sometimes order court-involved persons to undergo psychological or neuropsychological evaluation in order to provide information about a person's mental state. The results of the evaluation are used to help the court make decisions in legal proceedings. The results of such evaluations can be used to inform the court when matters of competency, criminal responsibility, and dangerousness are in question.
